Gor’tar (Officer) Thorgir of the Clan Bloodfist took his zabbak’tarr (Rite of Passage: literal translation “rite of the warrior”) as a common orc of the Doomspear Clan, but soon after became a thrall to the Bloodfists in a failed raid for commoner women. Dorin Bloodfist saw great potential in the young orcish Doomspear and spared him if he agreed to become a thrall for 10 years. The Clan Chieftain felt that 10 years would give them enough time to ensure the young man’s integrity, and he was right.
A great deal of legend surrounds Karr’Tahl the Controller and his Book of the Law. People tend to think so little of goblins, that most reasonable scholars believe Karr’Tahl was probably a hobgoblin, orc, or human who dominated a goblin tribe. Nothing could be further from the truth!
It shouldn’t be any surprise that PTSD is an ancient condition, one as old as war. Some modern psychologists are seeking to take the war out of our veterans by looking to our mythology. My feeling – why the hell didn’t anybody think of this before?
