I’ve just done a major update to the site to bring most of my names and material in line with my departure from Spelljammer. Click on the link to come and check it out! There’s still a few things that need to be changed (ie. the Elven Glossary, some system information) but most characters and locations are renamed now.
I have picked a new title for what is intended to be my fourth book. To get rid of the Forgotten Realms influence, it will now be called, “May the Airts Blow Fair & Free.”
In other news, I’ve been promoting the Toy Soldier Saga at the Virtual Fantasy Con, which is an online conference for writers & readers of fantasy. I had the pleasure of hosting three panels, and one of which, Realism in Fantasy Warfare, I think would be of real interest to Toy Soldier fans. That will posted tomorrow!
Hey there, Toy Soldier fans! After a long absence due to NaNoWriMo followed by a new job at Patheos.com as a professional blogger, then a new job working behind the counter at the bookstore where I read Tarot, and a heaping huge case of writer’s block, I am pleased to announce that I am back at the keyboard!
I will be carrying on with Brothers in Arms but I will not release anything at this point until the whole novel is finished, since there’s been so many re-formats and changes. It’s not fair to you as the readers.
In other news, I’m going to be submitting A Few Good Elves to a friend who is an editor, so be prepared for a cleaned-up version in the near future.
Also, I am in the process of creating a Patreon account. This is big news for those of you who want to support my work but know that as fan-fic I am limited as to what I can do with it. You can offer to pledge monthly to help me create my projects. I am thinking that I might make the Toy Soldier Saga (possibly even a print version) available as perks for supporting my Patreon campaign. They would therefore be free gifts that I would providing to my supporters and not a commercial venture. I do have other things that will be commercial ventures that the Patreon campaign would be supporting, such as Etsy creations, a steampunk serial series I am working on, and a new album with professional-quality recording.
But I’m still working out the details of that, so stay tuned! And thanks for bearing with me all this time.
I think it’s clear through recent posts that I am home again now and back to thinking about my novels. I took the opportunity to catch up on cross-posting the relevant stuff from the Wildspace blog. I am still involved in National Novel Writing Month and I am NOT writing Toy Soldier for that, but I will be back to work on the books again in a few days. I’m not going to post any more chapters for Brothers in Arms until I am finished, however, since I have done several rewrites. This will give me an opportunity to write the book in a different order and perhaps solve some of the difficulties I am having in bringing my disparate plot aspects together.
In other news, Spreecast is now charging per view to see old Spreecasts, so while it’s too much of a pain to take them all down, I think you should be aware of that.
I will be editing the books more thoroughly this winter and hope to progress to the audiobooks in the spring. They are quite the undertaking and expect that it will be some time before you see them.
If you have any questions let me know! I’ll keep plugging away at it . . . 🙂
